Hydroponically Grown Mini Broccoli Stir-Fry Recipe
Experience the rich, fresh flavor of hydroponically grown mini broccoli in this easy-to-make, nutrient-packed stir-fry. This dish celebrates the natural sweetness and crunchiness of mini broccoli, complemented by other vibrant ingredients.
Ingredients:
- Hydroponically Grown Mini Broccoli: 2 cups, washed and trimmed
- Protein of Choice: Chicken, beef, tofu, or shrimp – 1 cup, thinly sliced (for tofu, cubed)
- Garlic: 3 cloves, minced
- Ginger: 1-inch piece, finely grated or minced
- Soy Sauce: 2 tablespoons
- Oyster Sauce: 1 tablespoon (for vegetarian, use mushroom sauce or additional soy sauce)
- Red Bell Pepper: 1, sliced into thin strips
- Sesame Oil: 2 teaspoons
- Cooking Oil: 2 tablespoons
- Green Onions: 2 stalks, sliced for garnish
- Sesame Seeds: 1 teaspoon, for garnish
Instructions:
- Marinating the Protein: If using chicken, beef, or shrimp, marinate the sliced protein in 1 tablespoon of soy sauce and set aside for at least 15 minutes.
- Stir-Frying: In a large skillet or wok, heat the cooking oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the garlic and ginger. Sauté for about 30 seconds, or until aromatic.
- Cooking the Protein: Add the protein to the skillet or wok. If using tofu, ensure it’s been pressed to remove excess water. Cook until the protein is nearly done – chicken, beef, and shrimp should be browned, and tofu should be golden on all sides.
- Adding the Veggies: Incorporate the hydroponically grown mini broccoli and red bell pepper strips. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes, ensuring the mini broccoli remains vibrant and slightly crunchy.
- Sauce Time: Pour in the remaining soy sauce, oyster sauce (or its substitute), and sesame oil. Stir well to combine and ensure all ingredients are well-coated.
- Garnishing and Serving: Once everything is heated through and well mixed, transfer the stir-fry to a serving dish. Sprinkle with sliced green onions and sesame seeds for garnish.
Tip: You can customize this stir-fry by adding other veggies like snap peas, baby corn, or sliced carrots. The key to a great stir-fry is to keep the veggies slightly crunchy and vibrant. Enjoy with a side of jasmine or brown rice for a complete meal!
