Lavender-Infused Lemonade with Hydroponically Grown Purple Lavender
Refresh your palate with this aromatic and tangy lemonade, which showcases the delightful floral notes of hydroponically grown purple lavender. Perfect for spring and summer gatherings, or whenever you need a refreshing drink with a twist.
Ingredients:
- Hydroponically Grown Purple Lavender: 2 tablespoons fresh buds (ensure they are edible and haven’t been treated with any chemicals)
- Lemons: 6-8, juiced (about 1 cup of fresh lemon juice)
- Granulated Sugar: 1 cup (adjust according to taste)
- Water: 4 cups
- Ice Cubes: As needed
- Lemon Slices and Lavender Sprigs: For garnish
Instructions:
- Make the Lavender Infusion: In a saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Once boiling, remove from heat and add the hydroponically grown purple lavender buds. Cover and let steep for about 10 minutes.
- Prepare the Sugar Syrup: In another saucepan, heat 1 cup of water and sugar over medium heat. Stir continuously until the sugar completely dissolves. Remove from heat and set aside.
- Combine & Chill: Strain the lavender-infused water into a pitcher to remove the buds. Add the lemon juice and sugar syrup to the pitcher and stir. Allow the lemonade to chill in the refrigerator for an hour or so.
- Serve: Once chilled, pour the lavender-infused lemonade over ice-filled glasses. Garnish with a slice of lemon and a small sprig of hydroponically grown purple lavender.
- Enjoy! Revel in the unique combination of tangy citrus and soothing lavender.
Tip: You can also transform this into a cocktail by adding a splash of gin or vodka to the lemonade. The botanicals in the gin, especially, pair wonderfully with the lavender.
