Description
eaSwiss chard is a member of the Amaranthaceae (am·a·ran·tha·ce·ae) botanical family which also includes beets, quinoa, spinach and sugar beets. Swiss chard is an excellent source of vitamin A and vitamin K and a good source of vitamin C and magnesium. Swiss chard also contains the antioxidants beta-carotene, lutein, and zeaxanthin.
Plant Care:
Pick outer leaves with stalk after they reach 4 inches long all the way down to the base of the plant. If you want larger, more mature leaves, you’ll only need to wait another 2 weeks or so.
